This beautiful golf course is quite challenging as many different levels of holes and layouts are mixed nicely in a relatively short course. But it teaches you that the distance is something but not everything. It is not easy at all either to play and score. #14 and #15 are the highlights. At 14, if you hit too far or too right, you will lose your ball. You also hit the green at once, otherwise your ball can go anywhere after bouncing rocks. At 15, you have a beautiful right-side dog leg hole, beyond a pond alongside the fairway. When you have tail wind, you must try long drive and on-green with second shot. However, in case of strong head wind, you need three consecutive accurate shots to find green as its fairway is narrow.
Airplanes flying over every minute may annoy you, but not much.
It is one of the few courses that I wanted to come back again. I walked but like to recommend ride to focus on your play. It is quite hilly.
I have golfed here well over 20 times in the last 2 years, and have yet to leave dissatisfied. This place has slowly become my favorite public course in Boston. The location is great, you get views of the city from some of the holes. Again, I have yet to be disappointed once; green conditions are really really really good. T boxes and fairways are in good shape, and well-trimmed- The pace is fair, and the layout is beautiful and forgiving. Some areas are tight on the front 9; so there is occasionally some cross-fairway play but nothing different than any other course near Boston. Hole 15 is spectacular. The food and staff are always a pleasure, kind, and generally good about T times. They let you call in food, beer and what not on the 9th T box which is great on days that you want to keep the pace going and have a well priced meal/snack heading into the back 9. For under 80 dollars; it's a fantastic 18 and well worth the money. Again, my favorite course in Boston. You also get great views, well-maintained bunkers, challenging green conditions, and consistent aeration from maintenance staff- all together the atmosphere, playability, course structure, and conditions make it the best option within the city; It has some easier holes and more difficult holes as well so its a good balance for all types of golfers. 5 Stars. I also love the staff that books T times, they are really accommodating and try their best to get you in even on busy days. Twilight rounds are under 50, and allow you to get 18 in during peak summer, and even early September if you are a quick golfer.
Beautiful cheap golf course. The greens are sensational right now great job to the crew for fixing them up. Super fun course with great views and incredible price for the experience.
Great view of the city, decently easy to get on. Weekend pace (Sat at 12:40pm for 18 walking - 4:15) not bad at all but should be faster for a short albeit challenging course. 3rd is a mess to find if you're new and 15th, a menace regardless of familiarity. All in all, an okay course (12th was very kind to me) but there are others that can be played for about the same price ($55 walking) or less in the area with arguably better conditions (across the board - tee box, fairways, greens), even on the front 9. William Devine, George Wright, Newton Comm, Brookline / Putterham, etc.
Not a fan of the layout, very weird hills and the course is extremely narrow at times with weird holes. Great hospitality though had a positive experience with the workers.
Beautiful course so close to the City in very good condition. Played on a Friday in May and the pace of play was great. $55 walking seems about right for the area.
Restaurant food and service had something to be desired, so 4 stars overall.
I didn’t know what to expect but this was surprisingly a ton of fun. Interesting course, great view of the city. Greens were fast and challenging. Best part : teed off at 11:40am and was walking off the 18th green at 3:50pm. Pleasant pace.
The layout can be confusing and on some occasions you may need to confirm you’re playing the correct fairway and hole.
Short course but very fun to play. it is tight and the holes are close together but would like to play again now that I have played it once. some very challenging holes for 1st timers. Met some fun people on the course and in the bar. Overall a very good time.
